Konate 'flattered' by PSG, Real Madrid links
Ibrahima Konate's future at Liverpool is not yet certain, but he hinted that a new deal is an option when touching on transfer rumours.
Ibrahima Konate says it is "flattering" to be linked with clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, but has hinted Liverpool have offered him a new deal.
Konate's current Liverpool deal is set to expire at the end of next season, but rumours in recent weeks suggested PSG were keen to get his signature in the coming off-season.
The 25-year-old, who started his youth career in the French capital at Paris FC, joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in May 2021.
This season, Konate has contributed to seven Premier League clean sheets, while nobody in the squad can better his 10 blocks in the competition.
He has also won 89 of the 128 duels he has contested in the top flight, proving a key figure in Arne Slot's team as they hold the lead at the top of the table.
Konate admitted it was a compliment to be linked to other big European clubs, but insisted he was not giving any thought to the speculation.
"It's clear that hearing big clubs like that are interested in me is very flattering!" Konate told Telefoot.
"Now, I'm focusing on this season to sweep everything and take as many titles as possible.
"As for my contractual situation, I'll let my agents take care of it."
