Burnley have completed the permanent signing of Florentino Luis from Benfica.

Florentino spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Turf Moor, though he could not help Burnley avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

The midfielder made 31 Premier League appearances for the Clarets, with 25 of those coming as starts.

He did not score, but provided two assists, while also contesting 262 duels, a tally bettered by only Zian Flemming (274) and Jaidon Anthony (322) for Burnley.

Despite Burnley's relegation, the obligation for Florentino to join them permanently has been triggered.

The 26-year-old is now set to remain at Burnley as they aim to make it back into the Premier League, though the Clarets have not yet appointed a replacement for Scott Parker, who departed towards the end of the campaign.
