Luis Enrique urges PSG to go out on a high at Parc des Princes
Paris Saint-Germain cannot win the Ligue 1 title this weekend, but Luis Enrique wants a strong showing in their final home game of 2025-26.
Luis Enrique wants to see a "great performance" from his Paris Saint-Germain side against Brest in their final home game of the season.
PSG have three games remaining in Ligue 1, with trips to title challengers Lens and local rivals Paris FC following Sunday's fixture with Brest.
They cannot win the league title yet, following Lens' win over Nantes on Friday, but can build a six-point lead ahead of what can then be a title-deciding clash on May 13.
Luis Enrique is set to manage his 100th Ligue 1 match, all in charge of PSG.
Among managers to have taken charge of at least 99 games in the top flight, he holds the record for the most wins in his first 100 (70), fewest defeats (nine), and the highest points-per-game average (2.32).
Confidence is also high in the PSG camp after they held off Bayern Munich to qualify for the Champions League final.
Luis Enrique has previously rested players ahead of crucial European games, but the Spaniard is wary of his team lacking match sharpness if they do not get enough minutes before the Champions League showpiece with Arsenal.
"This is our last match of the season at the Parc des Princes. Naturally, we want to put in a great performance. That is what we will focus on," said the PSG boss.
"We will see how things go, but we will proceed as usual. We will pay attention to the players’ fitness levels, but to play a Champions League final, you need competitive minutes.
"We will take care of the playing time each player needs in order to reach the optimal level of freshness for the final.
"What we are trying to do is to do the best possible job for each player individually.
"If a player is not playing at a given moment, it is because it is better for him, because the most important thing is to win the three points, but also the players’ health.
"We make the decisions that are best for the pitch and for the players’ health."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Paris Saint-Germain – Warren Zaire-Emery
In their draw against Lorient last time out, Zaire-Emery scored 45 seconds after coming on as a substitute, the fastest for a PSG player in Ligue 1 since Julian Draxler against Montpellier in September 2021 (21 seconds).
The midfielder has now scored three goals in the 2025-26 Ligue 1 season, his highest tally in a single campaign.
Brest – Brendan Chardonnet
Brest captain Chardonnet has made more clearances than any other player in Ligue 1 this season (180).
The 31-year-old has directly contributed to four league goals in 2025-26 (one goal, three assists), his best return since 2020-21 (also four).
MATCH PREDICTION: PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN WIN
PSG are on a 33-match unbeaten run against Brest in all competitions (W25 D8), the joint-longest unbeaten streak in their history against a single opponent (also 33 against Angers).
Luis Enrique's side have scored 13 goals without conceding in their last three matches against Brest in all competitions.
PSG are currently averaging 2.26 points per game in Ligue 1 this season. They are set to exceed an average of two points per game for the 17th time in the top-flight (assuming three points for a win all-time), almost double that of any other team (nine times for St Etienne and Nantes).
Brest, meanwhile, are winless in their last six Ligue 1 matches (D2 L4). This is the second time they have gone on such a run this season (also six in October–November), while this had never happened before 2025-26 under Eric Roy (since January 2023).
Brest have also won only one of their last nine Ligue 1 away games (D3 L5), and have kept just one clean sheet in their last 13 matches on the road (conceding 26 goals); in both cases, it was against Metz (1-0 in March).
