Achraf Hakimi played down his Paris Saint-Germain team being the favourites heading into the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool. 

PSG arrive at Anfield with a two-goal lead following a 2-0 win in the French capital last week, with Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on target for the defending champions.

Luis Enrique's side arrive on Merseyside with not only confidence, but fresh legs too, having seen their clash against Lens postponed due to their European commitments. 

PSG won 1-0 at Anfield in the Champions League last 16 last season. The only sides to win consecutive away games against Liverpool in European competition are Barcelona and Atalanta, with neither of those doing so in back-to-back campaigns.

But the Opta supercomputer has predicted PSG to do that here. They are assigned an 86% chance of reaching the semi-finals, while their probability of going all the way are rated at 17%, behind Bayern Munich (30%) and Arsenal (34%). 

And though the Parisiens are the overwhelming favourites to progress, Hakimi insisted that his team-mates must be at their best to ensure the job gets done. 

"In this type of competition, there is no such thing as favourites. We've already seen it is possible for a team to come back even from 2-0 down," Hakimi told reporters. 

"We are in a very positive mindset having said that. We have a lot of confidence at the moment and I think tomorrow is a really important game for us.

"We are going to be very focused, and I also think we are going to have to take care of the details; every single last detail.

"We are prepared to give absolutely everything, as are Liverpool. Both teams will be going for it."

Hakimi could move into PSG's top five appearance makers in the European Cup/Champions League (currently on 54), overtaking Angel Di María and Edinson Cavani (54 each).

In addition, only Bayern's Michael Olise (six) has provided more assists than Hakimi (five) in the competition this season, with goals coming from all areas of PSG's side. 

Luis Enrique's side lead all teams in the Champions League this season for goals scored (36), total shots (259), shots on target (96) and touches in the opposition box (486).

Only Atletico Madrid (9.9) and Barcelona (8.9) have overperformed their expected goals (xG) more than PSG this term (8.4 – 36 goals from 27.6 xG), though Hakimi once again played down how well his team have done across all competitions this season. 

"We don't feel superior to everyone, far from it," Hakimi said. "The important thing is to enjoy ourselves when we play together.

"We have the same objectives and goals. We want to win for the club, for our team. It's fantastic to be able to celebrate winning."

Before this season's quarter-finals, there have been 17 occasions of a team being eliminated from the Champions League knockout stages despite having a 2+ goal lead from the first leg – PSG have been on the receiving end of this more than any other side (three times).

Liverpool have, however, lost four games in the Champions League this season, their joint-most in a single campaign (also 2006-07 and 2018-19).

The last time they lost four was 2018-19 – they went on to win the trophy that season, and it's also the only time they've overturned a 2+ goal deficit from the first leg to progress (vs Barcelona in the semi-final), and Luis Enrique remained wary of the threat Arne Slot's side pose. 

"It was only the first game. We have to play the second game," Luis Enrique said.

"When you play in this competition and play away it's always tough. And you're playing a team at Liverpool's level as well.

"Okay, they are trailing but it's still going to be difficult for us. We know there will be times when we experience difficulties playing against Liverpool."
