Greg Vanney says remonstrations from the LA Galaxy fans will spur the team to get back to winning ways when they travel to FC Dallas in MLS on Saturday.

The Galaxy were knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-finals by Mexican side Toluca on Wednesday, with a 3-0 second-leg loss condemning them to an exit, 7-2 on aggregate.

It was their second straight home loss in all competitions, with the home faithful expressing their frustrations with chants of "we want better" and some calls for "Vanney out."

The Galaxy are 10th in the Western Conference after earning their first away win of the year last time out in the league against Austin FC, and Vanney believes they can push up the table this weekend.

"Look, nobody, nobody ever likes to hear that. I mean, it's not what we do it for," Vanney said in response to the chants about his future.

"But I think what it did to this group is it galvanises the locker room a little bit more. It's like, 'okay, we've got to, it's us'. We've got to answer the bell here, we've got to respond."

Dallas, meanwhile, are four points and three places above the Galaxy, having lost just one of their seven matches so far.

After back-to-back wins over the Houston Dynamo and D.C. United, they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw with St. Louis City SC last time out, and head coach Eric Quill was disappointed with their first-half display.

"I didn't recognise us in the first 45 minutes," Quill said about the St. Louis match.

"The team you've been watching had not lost its mentality in any half this season, but we did [against them].

"It's a mindset. Being locked in, engaged and aggressive, and that's usually a staple for us."

Musa assisted Dallas' lone goal last Saturday, his 14th regular-season home game with a goal contribution since the start of last season.

Only Orlando City’s Martin Ojeda has had a goal contribution in more home matches in that span (15).

LA Galaxy – Marco Reus

Reus recorded a goal contribution for a fourth consecutive MLS match, with his assist last Saturday.

It is his first time having a goal contribution in four straight league matches since a four-game streak with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga in September and October 2023.

MATCH PREDICTION: FC DALLAS WIN

FC Dallas have won nine straight regular-season home matches against LA Galaxy, the longest active home win streak in MLS. It is also tied for the longest home win streak by one MLS team against another in the league's post-shootout era (since 2000).

Dallas extended their regular-season home unbeaten streak to 10 games with a 1-1 draw against St. Louis last Saturday. The streak is tied with the Seattle Sounders for the second-longest active home unbeaten run in the league, trailing only Toronto FC's 11-game sequence (regular season only).

The Galaxy, meanwhile, earned their first road win of the season at Austin last time out – it was their first road win against an MLS team since the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs.

The Galaxy have not won consecutive road games in the regular season since two straight road wins in June 2024.
