Luis Enrique has shifted his full attention to Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 clash with Lorient this weekend, just days after their enthralling Champions League semi-final victory. 

PSG played out a staggering nine-goal classic with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Tuesday, with the Parisians taking a 5-4 first-leg advantage to Germany next week.

With nine goals, the clash was the joint-highest semi-final match in European Cup/Champions League history, after Rangers were beaten 3-6 by Eintracht Frankfurt in 1959-60.

In addition, it was the first time in a European semi-final (any competition) that both teams scored 4+ goals, and just the second Champions League knockout stage match after Chelsea 4-4 Liverpool in the 2008-09 quarter-final.

But before their second leg in Munich, PSG will be hoping to maintain or even improve their six-point lead over Lens at the top of the table with four games left. 

They face a stern test in Lorient, who are ninth in the standings and out for a return to winning ways following a 3-2 defeat to Strasbourg in their last league outing. 

"Every match is different, and every match has its own challenges," Luis Enrique told reporters. 

"We need these three points against Lorient. We need to analyse everything to choose the best options."

But the PSG boss was happy to discuss their win over Bayern, which saw him record his 50th Champions League victory. In his 77th game, he is the fastest to reach this milestone in the competition's history.

PSG scored with all five of their shots on target against Bayern. This is the first time on record (since 2003-04) a team has had 5+ shots on target and scored them all in a Champions League knockout stage match.

"I can't be frustrated, because it was a unique football match. It was a spectacular game," Luis Enrique added. 

"Since I joined Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich have been the toughest opponents we’ve faced. The standard of the match was incredible, particularly from the strikers.

"When you see how Ousmane Dembele and Harry Kane, the two centre-forwards, defended throughout the match. I think this is the time to congratulate both teams."

However, PSG's triumph came at a cost, with Achraf Hakimi sustaining an injury to his right thigh, an issue the club confirmed would keep him out for the next few weeks. 

Hakimi is confirmed to be unavailable for the second leg against Bayern, though Luis Enrique is confident that his team have enough tools to deal with the full-back's absence. 

"Achraf is a machine. He performs at the highest level all the time. It's incredible," the PSG boss said. 

"Unfortunately, he won't be in Munich, but we're confident because we have the depth in the squad.

"I think the team has shown its ability to cope with injuries to key players in the squad. That's important if we're to win trophies."

PSG – Lee Kang-In

Lee has now been involved in his 26 goals in Ligue 1 since joining PSG (12 goals, 14 assists), showing the Parisiens' quality in reserve. 

The South Korean (11 goals, 10 assists) as well as Senny Mayulu (12 goals, eight assists), have both reached 20+ goal involvements in all competitions since the start of last season, bringing the total number of PSG players to reach this mark to 12, at least four more than any other team in the top five European leagues.

Lorient – ​Panos Katseris

Katseris has been involved in a goal in each of his last two Ligue 1 matches (one goal against Marseille, one assist against Strasbourg), as many as in his first 26 appearances. 

MATCH PREDICTION: PSG WIN

PSG have won their last two Ligue 1 games by a margin of more than two goals (3-0 against both Nantes and Angers) and could make it three in a row for the first time since November 2023.

However, they have won only one of their last four Ligue 1 matches against Lorient (D2 L1). Following their 1-1 draw at the Moustoir on October 29, PSG could endure their first winless season against them since 2010-11 (D2).

The Parisiens have also lost only one of their 19 Ligue 1 matches played between two Champions League fixtures under QSI ownership (W15 D3). That defeat came almost exactly a year ago on 3 May 2025 at Strasbourg, between their two semi-final victories against Arsenal.

Lorient, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last two Ligue 1 away games against PSG (W1 D1). Among current top-flight clubs, only Monaco (38% - 19/50) have a higher away win percentage against Luis Enrique's side than Lorient (35% - 6/17, D3 L8).

But Lorient have lost three of their last five Ligue 1 matches (W1 D1), having lost only one of their previous 15 (W7 D7).

They have also collected 19 fewer points away from home than at home in Ligue 1 this season (11 vs 30), the largest such differential in the division.
