West Ham climbed out of the Premier League's bottom three and pushed rivals Tottenham into the drop zone by thrashing Wolves 4-0 at the London Stadium.

Valentin Castellanos and Konstantinos Mavropanos both scored twice as what began as a tense affair became a procession in the second half, with Wolves now facing the prospect of being relegated as early as next weekend. 

Mavropanos met Jarrod Bowen's cross with a towering header to put the Hammers ahead late in the first half, though there were chances at both ends to start the second period.

Angel Gomes rattled Mads Hermansen's woodwork with a ferocious free-kick, and Crysencio Summerville almost caught Jose Sa off his line from 40 yards out after West Ham swiftly countered upfield. Moments later, Bowen curled against the far post after cutting inside from the right flank.

But West Ham finally got the all-important second goal in the 66th minute, with Castellanos applying the finishing touch after a sensational flick from Pablo, and they were not done there.

They killed any hope of a Wolves fightback straight from the restart, with Castellanos' shot deflecting in off Andre after Joao Gomes surrendered possession.

Mavropanos acrobatically hooked beyond Sa from a corner to make it 4-0 in the 83rd minute, and West Ham could even have had a fifth goal late on, as former Wolves winger Adama Traore skewed wide while one-v-one with Sa.

West Ham are now 17th in the table, two points clear of Spurs and only behind Nottingham Forest on goal difference. Wolves are 15 points from safety with only 18 to play for.

West Ham will now spend a night outside the relegation zone for just the second time in 2026, having also been above the dotted line on March 14.

Tottenham, meanwhile, will spend a night inside the bottom three for the first time since August 8, 2015, which was after their first game of the 2015-16 season.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side are hitting form at the right time, winning five of their last 11 Premier League matches (D3 L3). Since this run started with a win at Tottenham on January 17, only Manchester United (23) and Arsenal (21) have won more points than their 18.

The Hammers had 18 shots to Wolves' 14, putting up 1.68 expected goals (xG) to the visitors' 0.61, but they were clinical with their chances in their biggest Premier League win since April 2023, when they beat Bournemouth by the same scoreline under David Moyes.
